Privacy Policy

Who we are

oin is a made-to-order, personalised 2D pixel-art video game, given as a gift. It is made by two independent creators based in Kazakhstan - there is no company or legal entity behind it. You can read about order terms in our Terms of Service.

What we collect

We only collect what our order form asks for, and nothing more:

• Your name
• A contact handle - a phone number or Instagram username
• Your email address, used to send you the payment link and your finished game
• An optional referral or promo code
• One photo of the person the character is based on
• The character's name
• Your choice of final level (Almaty or Astana)
• The text of two letters you write
• 5 quiz questions with your answers
• The names of any extra NPC characters (optional)

We do not run user accounts, and we never collect passwords or payment card details through this website. Payment happens on a checkout hosted by Paddle, our merchant of record - your card and billing details go straight to Paddle, and we never see or store them.

Why we collect it

Everything you send us is used for exactly one thing: building your game and contacting you about your order. We don't use it for anything else.

Where your data is stored and third parties

Your order and photo pass through a small number of outside services that help us run oin:

• Google (Drive and Sheets, via Google Apps Script) - this is where your submitted order and uploaded photo arrive, and where we store the finished game files.
• Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd) - our merchant of record. When you pay, Paddle collects your payment and billing details directly and processes them as an independent data controller under its own privacy policy. We only receive confirmation that an order was paid, together with the buyer name, email and country needed to match the payment to your order.
• Cloudflare - hosts and delivers this website. As part of serving the page, it processes your IP address and approximate country; this is also what lets us show prices in your local currency.
• Meta / Instagram - if you contact us on Instagram, that conversation is covered by Instagram's own privacy policy, not this one.

Cookies and browser storage

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores two small preferences in your browser's local storage: your chosen interface language (oin-lang) and your chosen pricing region (oin-region). Both stay on your own device and are never sent to us.

Location and local pricing

We show prices in your local currency based on the approximate country reported by our hosting provider's network edge. This is only a country-level guess, not precise location tracking. You can change the region yourself at any time on the pricing page.

Sharing

We never sell, rent, or share your order content with advertisers. It is only shared with the payment, storage and hosting providers listed above, or when we are required to by law.

Security

Submissions travel over HTTPS. The cloud storage that holds your files is access-restricted. Because anyone holding your download link can open your game, please only share that link with the person the gift is for.

How long we keep things and how to get them deleted

The finished game stays in our cloud storage so that your download link keeps working. You can ask us to delete your photo, letters, quiz content and the stored game at any time by messaging @oin.gift on Instagram, and we will remove them.

The one thing we cannot delete for you is the payment record. Paddle has to keep transaction and tax records for as long as accounting and tax law requires, independently of us - for anything about those, contact Paddle at paddle.com.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. All of this happens the same way - by messaging @oin.gift on Instagram. For anything relating to your payment or billing data, the same requests go to Paddle at paddle.com, since Paddle controls that data rather than us.

Photos of other people

If your photo shows someone else, you are responsible for having their permission before you send it to us.

Children

oin is intended for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
