A personalized game gift for your dad for Thanksgiving: a thank-you letter you can play

What the game is, in one page

A game turns gratitude into an occasion. He gets a pixel world with him at the centre, a short quiz that proves you remember the details, and two letters that finally say thank you out loud.

Under the hood it is a short pixel game with levels, a quiz and a final level in Almaty, Kazakhstan. You supply the photo, the letters, the questions and, if you like, two NPCs; New York and Tokyo final levels are coming soon.

What to write in the two letters

Use the first letter to name something specific he did, with the day and the detail. Use the second to say what it changed for you.

Five quiz questions to start from

Let the quiz questions be the small things he does without being asked, so passing them feels like being seen.

• Who always loses at the board game?
• Which holiday do we still talk about?
• What does Dad or Mom always say at dinner?
• Where was the first home I remember?
• Which dish is the family favourite?

If Thanksgiving is tomorrow

Thanksgiving gifts can be small. Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game arrive fast, and an oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment.

Thanksgiving is about gratitude, so a thank-you note is a gift in itself. Say what you are grateful for, and why.

Why it suits your dad

A dad who is hard to buy for will usually enjoy a gift with a bit of humour and a short, honest letter. Make him the hero and keep the quiz to family stories.

It opens from a link in a browser, so there is nothing for him to set up.

How to make it, step by step

• Choose a clear photo of him that you are authorized to use, and the pixel character is generated from it.
• Write two letters, the first for the opening room and the second for the end of the final level.
• Add a 5-question quiz about your shared memories; each correct answer is rewarded with flowers.
• Add up to two custom NPCs, friends or family, as long as everyone who appears agrees.
• Pay $29.90 once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour.

Price, delivery and refunds

It costs $29.90 as a one-time payment, with regional pricing and no subscription. Payment runs on a secure Polar checkout and Polar is the Merchant of Record, so oin never sees your card. After payment the game is generated automatically and emailed, usually within an hour, as a private link that stays available for one year plus a downloadable copy. If generation fails, the payment is refunded automatically. All sales are final once delivery starts, but you get a full refund if the game cannot be generated or delivered, if you are charged twice or if it is faulty and cannot be fixed. See the refund policy.
