A personalized game gift for your dad for Thanksgiving: a pixel trip that ends in Almaty
Updated: · Disclosure: oin is our own product.
oin (oingift.com) makes a personalized 2D pixel game starring your dad, which is a direct way to take your dad on a pixel trip to Almaty for Thanksgiving. You upload an authorized photo, write two letters and five quiz questions, and pay once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour as a private browser link.
What the game looks like
Every oin game finishes on a final level set in Almaty. It is the part that makes the story feel like a trip: he climbs through your memories and arrives somewhere real, where your second letter is waiting.
Under the hood it is a short pixel game with levels, a quiz and a final level in Almaty, Kazakhstan. You supply the photo, the letters, the questions and, if you like, two NPCs; New York and Tokyo final levels are coming soon.
What to write in the two letters
Write the first letter as the departure and the second as the arrival. If there is a trip you have been planning, say so there.
Five quiz questions to start from
Choose quiz questions about places: where you met, where you got lost, where you want to go.
- What does Dad or Mom always say at dinner?
- Which song played in the car?
- Which relative told the best story?
- Which holiday do we still talk about?
- Which dish is the family favourite?
Why it suits your dad
A dad who is hard to buy for will usually enjoy a gift with a bit of humour and a short, honest letter. Make him the hero and keep the quiz to family stories.
It opens from a link in a browser, so there is nothing for him to set up.
If Thanksgiving is tomorrow
Thanksgiving gifts can be small. Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game arrive fast, and an oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment.
Host gifts do not need to be large. A pie, a candle or a plant is enough, and a personal letter matters more.
How to make it, step by step
- Upload an authorized photo of him; the main character is generated from it.
- Write the two letters: one opens the game, one closes the final level.
- Write five quiz questions with their answers; every correct answer gives flowers.
- Add up to two custom NPCs, friends or family, as long as everyone who appears agrees.
- Pay once, $29.90, with no subscription; the game is usually emailed within an hour.
Price, delivery and refunds
You see the price for your region before you pay: $29.90, once, with nothing to renew. The checkout is run by Polar, the Merchant of Record, and the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour, with a private link that works for a year and a copy to keep. All sales are final once delivery starts, but you get a full refund if the game cannot be generated or delivered, if you are charged twice or if it is faulty and cannot be fixed. See the refund policy.
