Custom video game gift services compared
Updated: · Disclosure: oin is our own product.
There are now several ways to give someone a video game made about them, from a few-pound template game sent by link to a studio-built game costing hundreds. We make one of them, so read this with that in mind - we have tried to describe each option fairly, with prices taken from each provider’s own site as of October 2026.
The options
Template browser games (e.g. Sending Games)
Short pre-made retro mini games where you add names, photos and messages, sent as a link that plays in the browser. Ready in minutes. Sending Games lists games from £3 to £8. Best as a playful alternative to a greeting card.
Etsy sellers
Independent creators selling personalized couple and birthday games, usually as digital downloads. Prices, quality and turnaround vary widely by seller; check reviews and sample videos before ordering.
