London to Sydney: the time difference

Sydney is about 10 hours ahead of London, so 8 pm in Sydney is roughly 10 am in London. The gap shifts by an hour for part of the year when the clocks change.

With so many hours between you, spontaneous calls are rare. Schedule the reveal for a weekend morning on one side and an evening on the other.

What a parcel across the border costs you

A parcel from London to Sydney crosses a border, so allow one to three weeks and check customs rules for food, liquids and anything with a battery. A digital gift has none of that.

Buying for your girlfriend

The best gifts for a girlfriend are specific. Pick a memory, an inside joke or a place, and let the gift point to it.

Pair a small thing she can use with one that is purely sentimental.

If you left it late

Valentine’s Day is the busiest day for flowers and restaurants, so book now. Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game arrive fast, and an oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment.

Valentine’s Day gifts compete with everyone else’s, so personal beats expensive. A card in your own words does more than a large bouquet from a florist who is rushed.

Opening it together on a call

Pick a slot when you are both free, send the link and stay on the call while she plays. The quiz makes a good conversation, because only the two of you know the answers.

The final level you can play today is set in Almaty, Kazakhstan; New York and Tokyo are coming soon.
