Buying for a gamer

Most keen players already own the big-name releases. Instead of guessing a title, give them the choice with a store card, or give something that improves the setup they already have.

Then add one thing that is only from you.

Buying for a coworker

If you are not close, choose something universal: a good coffee, a plant, a small desk item. If you are close, a shared joke can make a gift feel warm without being too much.

Check whether your workplace has a gift policy.

If the birthday is tomorrow

Table bookings and a personalized game can be arranged online the same day. An oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment, so it can still be ready for the morning. Pair one with a handwritten card and they still have something to open.

Think of the day as a whole: a morning surprise, a gift at dinner and something for the evening. A single gift rarely feels like enough on its own.
