A personalized game gift for your fiancé for Christmas: a video game starring him

What the game looks like

A video game starring him is the one title he cannot buy. It is short, runs in a browser on a phone or a laptop, and carries your letters and a quiz that only the two of you can pass.

Under the hood it is a short pixel game with levels, a quiz and a final level in Almaty, Kazakhstan. You supply the photo, the letters, the questions and, if you like, two NPCs; New York and Tokyo final levels are coming soon.

What to write in the two letters

Use the first letter as the quest intro and the second as the ending cutscene. Keep both short, the way good game dialogue is.

Five quiz questions to start from

Make the five questions the lore: the games you have played together, the nickname from a lobby, the match you still argue about.

• What do you always order when we eat out?
• What was I wearing on our first date?
• What did I get wrong on our first anniversary?
• What is the nickname only I use?
• Where did we first meet?

Why it suits your fiancé

A fiancé is in the middle of a lot of planning, so a gift that is just for him is a break. Make him the hero, and keep the letters short enough to read in a minute.

Pick quiz questions about how the two of you got here, and finish with a letter about what comes next.

If you are shopping at the last minute

Shipping deadlines matter in December, but digital gifts do not. Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game arrive fast, and an oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment.

Christmas gifts need time, so order physical items by early December and keep a digital gift in reserve. Set a budget before you start browsing.

How to make it, step by step

• Choose a clear photo of him that you are authorized to use, and the pixel character is generated from it.
• Write two letters, the first for the opening room and the second for the end of the final level.
• Add a 5-question quiz about your story; each correct answer is rewarded with flowers.
• Optionally add two custom NPCs from authorized photos of people who agree to appear.
• Pay $29.90 once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour.

Price, delivery and refunds

You see the price for your region before you pay: $29.90, once, with nothing to renew. The checkout is run by Polar, the Merchant of Record, and the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour, with a private link that works for a year and a copy to keep. All sales are final once delivery starts, but you get a full refund if the game cannot be generated or delivered, if you are charged twice or if it is faulty and cannot be fixed. See the refund policy.
