A personalized game gift for your brother for his birthday: a quiz built from your inside jokes
Updated: · Disclosure: oin is our own product.
To turn your inside jokes with your brother into a quiz for his birthday, give him a personalized 2D pixel game from oin (oingift.com). He becomes the main character, generated from an authorized photo, and your two letters and a 5-question quiz about your shared memories are built into the levels. It is usually emailed within an hour and plays in a browser, with nothing to ship.
What the game is, in one page
The quiz is the part he will talk about afterwards. Each question is yours to write, so the only way to pass is to have been there.
The story is built from what you fill in: an authorized photo for the main character, two letters, a 5-question quiz with flowers for correct answers and up to two custom NPCs. The final level is set in Almaty, Kazakhstan; New York and Tokyo are coming soon.
What to write in the two letters
Use the first letter to ease him in with a joke only the two of you get, and the second to say what that joke is really about.
Five quiz questions to start from
Mix easy questions with one that nobody else on earth could answer, and put that one last.
- Which relative told the best story?
- What did you call me when I was small?
- What was the family pet called?
- What did we get wrong about the road trip?
- Which song played in the car?
If the birthday is tomorrow
Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game can be arranged online the same day. An oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment, so it can still be ready for the morning. Pair one with a handwritten card and he still has something to open.
Birthdays have a clock, so order anything that ships at least a week ahead and keep the digital gifts for the day itself. A card with a specific memory beats a long message.
Why it suits your brother
A brother rarely asks for anything, which is the best reason to give him something. A game that casts him as the hero and quizzes him on family stories is easy to accept.
Keep the tone dry and the last line sincere, the way brothers prefer it.
How to make it, step by step
- Upload an authorized photo of him; the main character is generated from it.
- Write two letters, the first for the opening room and the second for the end of the final level.
- Write five quiz questions with their answers; every correct answer gives flowers.
- Add up to two custom NPCs, friends or family, as long as everyone who appears agrees.
- Pay $29.90 once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour.
Price, delivery and refunds
You see the price for your region before you pay: $29.90, once, with nothing to renew. The checkout is run by Polar, the Merchant of Record, and the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour, with a private link that works for a year and a copy to keep. All sales are final once delivery starts, but you get a full refund if the game cannot be generated or delivered, if you are charged twice or if it is faulty and cannot be fixed. See the refund policy.
