A personalized game gift for your best friend for Christmas: a last-minute gift that usually arrives within an hour
Updated: · Disclosure: oin is our own product.
A personalized game gift is a small pixel video game built around your best friend. With oin (oingift.com) you send your best friend a gift that usually arrives within an hour for Christmas: the letters, the quiz and the story are yours to write, the final level is set in Almaty, and the game is usually in your inbox within an hour of payment.
What the game looks like
Most gifts need a head start. An oin game is generated automatically after payment, so it can be written, paid for and in their inbox the same day, with nothing to ship.
Under the hood it is a short pixel game with levels, a quiz and a final level in Almaty, Kazakhstan. You supply the photo, the letters, the questions and, if you like, two NPCs; New York and Tokyo final levels are coming soon.
What to write in the two letters
Do not agonise over the letters. Two honest paragraphs written in ten minutes beat a perfect draft that arrives late.
Five quiz questions to start from
Use the quiz to save time as well: the first five facts that come to mind about them are the right five.
- What was the nickname from school?
- Which of us cried at the film?
- Where did we first meet?
- What game did we play all night?
- Which trip went wrong, and why?
If you are shopping at the last minute
Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game can be arranged online the same day. An oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment, so it can wait until Christmas Eve. Pair one with a wrapped card and they still have something to open.
Wrap something small to open on the day itself. A game or letter can sit under the tree as a card even though it is a digital gift.
Why it suits your best friend
A best friend has heard every story, so the game should retell them in the worst possible way. Use real names, real mistakes and the nickname from school.
Write one letter as a roast and one as the sincere thing you never say, because both are true.
How to make it, step by step
- Upload an authorized photo of them; the main character is generated from it.
- Write the two letters: one opens the game, one closes the final level.
- Add a 5-question quiz about your friendship; each correct answer is rewarded with flowers.
- Add up to two custom NPCs, friends or family, as long as everyone who appears agrees.
- Pay $29.90 once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour.
Price, delivery and refunds
It costs $29.90 as a one-time payment, with regional pricing and no subscription. Payment runs on a secure Polar checkout and Polar is the Merchant of Record, so oin never sees your card. After payment the game is generated automatically and emailed, usually within an hour, as a private link that stays available for one year plus a downloadable copy. If generation fails, the payment is refunded automatically. All sales are final once delivery starts, but you get a full refund if the game cannot be generated or delivered, if you are charged twice or if it is faulty and cannot be fixed. See the refund policy.
